On November 20, Person County staff will offer three information and training sessions for anyone interesting in learning about Geographic Information Systems (GIS). GIS is a computer-based technology used to create, manage, analyze and map all types of data. GIS systems are used for capturing, analyzing, communicating, and displaying information related to places. In the simplest terms, GIS connects data to a map which helps users understand patterns, relationships and geographic context.
Sessions will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the GIS Conference Room at 325 S. Morgan Street in Roxboro. No RSVP is required. If you have questions or need more information, contact the Person County GIS staff at 336-597-2242.
