Public health threats can arise from natural, accidental, or intentional events. The Emergency Preparedness Program works to help the community prepare for, respond to, and recover from these threats, with a focus on protecting lives and improving readiness across Person County.
We partner with local, regional, and state agencies to coordinate efforts, improve efficiency, and make the best use of resources through an all-hazards planning approach.
How WE Prepare:
- Send public health emergency alerts
- Require Incident Command System (ICS) training
- Maintain a respiratory protection program
- Partner with businesses as Closed Points of Dispensing (PODs)
- Develop and update emergency response plans
- Participate in training exercises with response partners
